If you are a Millenial, go work for Chevron - it is paradise! I challenge you to find a better job with a better pay (six digits in a couple of years), having fun networking with peers, flexible schedule (every other Friday off, working from home, etc.), daycare next to office, 50% of first 5 years spent in training, many other perks.

Yes, Chevron is laying off a lot of people now. Go read their board. That would not be a good company to go to work for now...last hired, first fired.

Dear Millenial - there are no shortcuts in life, OK? My special snowflake, if you haven't been following, the whole Oil & Gas sector is in a major turmoil, oil prices were cut 70% and 200,000 people were laid off this year. I live in Houston and there is blood on the streets here every day. Every major oil and gas company was cut in half. If you do not trust me pick any company (start with your Chevron) and see how many thousands of messages they have on their board. 5 or 10 thousand people that we lay off or will be laying off is peanuts for them. Oil business is cyclical, they will have a few good years, everyone gets paid well, and then a downturn hits and they stay depressed for a decade or so. Good luck dear special snowflake...
