Seems we're likely to have 39k people picketing in front of the wireless stores just in time for Christmas. 39k people that are just trying to NOT have their pensions and 401ks taken away from them by a company that's making over a billion dollars a month profit, paying the CEO 18 million a year, laying good people off, and bringing in H1-B workers to replace them. Maybe the recently laid off managers will be joining the strikers to voice their opinion on this situation also. Good luck with your public image and good luck making your 4th quarter numbers with 39,000 people out in front of the wireless stores, Verizon.

We the mgmt employees are not at all prepared for strike. They have RIFed most of the people that were trained for contingency. The remaining team for got the meager training they received several months ago. Next week meeting by Mudge, Tami etc is just a drama to send a signal to union that leadership is tough. However they are completely weak.

I think what the OP is saying is the Union will be on strike. That is what we are hearing in Wireline. The company scheduled a mandatory manager meeting for all managers across the footprint this Tuesday to prepare for work stoppage.
Anonymous195888, you're confusing an informational picket line with a strike picket line. During the strike, I saw hundreds at individual stores, but yours may be a smaller area, or you were witnessing a rotational informational picket that was an ongoing union member practice while they were working without a contract last time around, and this time.
It may not be 39K, but it will be a lot more than the poor people being fired will have out there.. Instead of bashing the unions, what about joining together! This company is destroying thousands of families and people. Wake up. Thank God for the Unions.

Staffing managers are a waste to this company. Need to find projects to do . The manager that did not get rift already new they were not . They have been training them just in case Union walks in December .
