Verizon Wireless agreed to neutrality and card check recognition waay back in 2000. I'm surprised the Unions are not out there card checking the wireless locations. There wasn't much interest in 2001, I'm betting that has changed.

Why does he need those many body guards? One reason I can think of- Investors will be after him in few years for betraying their trust.
Because if a center like Woburn, Mass wanted to have a union, VZW would just shut it down and move the work to a right to work state.
The union is making inroads into wireless. Hence lowell mcasshat subbing out as many wireless jobs as he can. Then on the wireline side, no expense is spared on breaking the union. I've never seen a company's leaders that completely hate their employees like verizon does.
But then the pencil dick leader lowell needs 6+ body guards.
