Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Eradicate the nepotism in VZ IT and fire all those who practice quid pro quo.

Looks like one can publish a book of epic proportions on nepotism in IT. In Dallas CMB IT- there is an AD who was a contractor in FL until recently. He was brother-in-law of an infomus ED who got fired by ethics committee for harassing a female employees at tampa. This contractor became an AD with in no time because the friends of the fired ED still work in CMB.

You can find nuggets- where the entire family under one network it ED- wife, husband, brother-in-law and close relatives. Such relations shoukd be demoted and separated into entirely different SVP orgs, if not terminated.

HR should focus on the people who joined as contractors and quickly became senior developers or managers or ADs with in short time with little credentials. And see how many qualified members are bypassed to bring these folks to the current positions.

Very systemic deep rooted practice of quid pro quo is seen every day. There are 3 way relations and some cases I could tell tge futre of a contracor the very 1st day he/she joins a group, based on the region, native language, cast, relation to someone etc. I have seen several of the folks would become employees and would become senior execs in no time, bypassing qualified or senior members. If you have connections you will be placed on high profile projects and you will be in the limelight so you are ready for next promotion. Have the compliance team to visit Temple Terrace, FL and other IT locations and interview the employees under oath..they will get lot of information.

Management is well aware of such conflict of interest situations but they tune a blind eye or in some cases even support them. Wireline Network IT has so many examples.

There is an ED in NJ who has his cousin working in his organisation in Tampa. Imagine how he became employee when there were more deserving SOW candidates working in the org. and he got visible project just to show he is "deserving".

You can always report such conflict of interest situations to VZ compliance dept. It will be completely anonymous.

You.need the special focus of our HR lead Marc, Straton and Mudge to weed out the people who practice quid pro quo, before this issue becomes a lawsuit for verizon.
