Looking at the stock, today, AT&T's (NYSE:T) long-term growth potential is the real issue. Over the past 20 years, the S&P 500 has risen 256%. AT&T stock is up 19% over the same period.

There is no way we can avoid this - but at the same time, 10K was let go at verizon (oct/nov) and now 8K at sprint, we have to do big cuts too. right. verizon f***ed up by buying vodaphone's share in wireless, they took on 130 billion in debt. sprint is losing subscribers and losing money big time, they are super fat.

AT&T is laying off as well just in smaller numbers and not all at once. Probably not to attract too much media attention.
