Heard in a Vz meeting this week that people who leave will be replaced by new staff in India because they make 1/4 what the IT resources in the states make. This is reality.

Verizon is a US company serving primarily a domestic market. Yet we have 5000+ employees in India??? Not to mention the hundreds and hundreds of H1B visa workers here in the US. This article, regardless of how intelligent it sounds, is total bullshit. All you have to do is walk the halls of any of the IT locations to realize the truth.
Ask the 200+ people who were let go by Disney in Orlando, replaced by H1B visa workers!! "What is your opinion"
This country needs to wake up and wake up quick. We have lost our US manufacturing jobs to cheap foreign labor markets. We were told we are moving to a service focused economy, retrain and jobs will be there.. Now we are losing our service jobs to offshoring countries i.e. India, Russia, Ireland and Malaysia. Verizon and so many other companies are totally abusing the intent of the H1B visa program and our politicians turn a blind eye.
So now Nov 5, we let go experienced American Verizon workers while an H1B sits in his/her seat doing the Job. Wake up Verizon, Wake up America!!

Dude, I do not need a fing website to tell me what I am seeing with my own eyes. I am a 25 year veteran of the IT industry and I very well understand how the scam works, how Tata, Infosys, IBM, Accenture and all other operate and make money. H1Bs have been legalized to bring the best and the brightest to the States, nothing wrong with that, we've been doing it for centuries. In reality, Tatas of the world are bring in low paid half-ass-tech-skill folks who are paid peanuts. There is a fing ton of US workers who can do the same stupid scripting job or whatever they are doing, but they do not want to do it for 40K/year. Enter Infosys. An indentured servant is brought here, paid as little as possible, crammed into a 2 bdr apartment with 3 other guys, no car, and shit like that. They toil for years for their masters while hoping that, at some point, they will be released from the leash so they can have a normal life. I am not against Indian guys, they do whatever they need to do to better their lives, but I am pissed that the system allows this. So, please keep the fing TheWeek for yourself, I do not need it or Donald Trump to tell me what's going on. By the way, while you are at it, see what Verizon is doing here and tell me how come that we cannot find a Payroll Analyst in Irwing or a tester in San Diego?
