Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Eisp details?

I know it's early and they only started being mailed on Tuesday, but wondered if anyone has the details of the eisp offer yet. We already know dates, but what about payout info?

I've been with Vz wireline for nearly 20 years and have never heard of 100k bonus for eisp. In fact the 50k was a shock to everyone, which is why so many people took it and ran. I think the 100k is inaccurate info. Regarding layoffs, we were advised that if they don't get their headcount for eisp there will NOT be layoffs, but I would not believe a word out of managements mouth at this point. Regardless, unemployment would be around the same amount of money for me, and I would be able to file an extension after a year so may be a better financial bargain. How sad.

Wireline union represented associates once got a EISP of $2,200 per year and a $100,000 cash bonus. Around 2001-2002.

The 2015 EISP offer was $2,200 per year and $10,000 cash bonus for the same folks.....

This is to get you to "voluntarily" leave the company.

If you pass on this offer then you are fair game to be laid off and you then get a severance.

Its a roll of the dice at times.....

Doesn't sound like they're giving the additional though. That doesn't leave us with aa WHOLE lot, given the current state of the job market in America.

Yeah, I read about that, they called it a $40,000 additional bonus. Well, I wish you the best of luck. Maybe it will be enough for you to take and head in a whole new direction .

Typically what they've offered in the past is $2200 per year of service + $10,000.

Once they offered the whole company an eisp and it was $2200/yr + $50k.

So how does that work? They give you a bonus in addition to severance? I'm not union, but I've been "unofficially" looking into it, as have a few guys on the team.

Yeah, we haven't had one in my dept since the 50k one. This is our first since. Seems like a lame attempt but I'm sure people on the cusp will bite.

Here in Virginia we have heard only 10,000 thousand to leave...need to pony up like GM and give us 100,000 and a car...nobody gonna go for anything less than the big one they did last year
