I am German, we do not let non-Germans take our jobs. We do offshore, but on German soil: NO

If your mad take it to the polls! Flood DC with complaints on how American jobs are being sent overseas. I was targeted and abused. Take to the airways. Call in radio. Write to the media. Now you know why Trump wants to stop this,if companies were taxed or levied for every job off shored it would stop!

Are there any lawyers that work and take their fee only if terminated employee wins and compensation by VZ?

Don't bother. You'll never win. There are documented business cases for every RIF, with legal approval. You'll spend a lot of money to lose. With this massive a RIF you have no chance, you weren't targeted individually there are thousands. The company will defend rigorously and probably not settle with anyone due to business cases and volume. Just being realistic. I've been involved in these cases, defending. Just move on.

BE SMART - It is just a matter of time, before Financial Planners and Lawyers (without promises you will win, but you still have to pay them $200-$300 per hour?) start posting on this site eager to get their hands on your Severance,Pension/401k money. Attn: Board Moderator - Please kick them off this site.

695 hit the nail on the head.

Call a lawyer, any lawyer. They are going to want a few hundred grand to get started and the price tag goes up from there. Things in real life are much, much, much different than you see on TV.

Seriously, don't take my words on your screen for it, call a lawyer and find out for yourself (I want you to because people that are knowledgeable in what a lawsuit really means never, ever, ever utter the words lawsuit again.

OK, well here is a link to an LA Times story about senators calling on feds to investigate ConEd's abuse of hb1 program.http://www.latimes.com/nation/politics/politicsnow/la-na-immigration-investigation-20150409-story.html Feds are still investigating. So, does that mean we need to be putting a lot of pressure on our senators? If that's the only way to shine a light on what is happening here, then we should make as much as we can.

Apparently Verizon is wiping its ASS with their commitments pursuant to the H-1B visa agreements and hiring people in India to directly replace US workers. I got my letter today notifying me of my severance pay and last day (December 31). Over 60 new hires over the past couple weeks for VDSI (Verizon Data Services India).

648 - Be sure you understand this process can take a very long time and cost a lot of $$$. And normally attorneys won't take a case like this on contingency. I know you're immediate reaction is you're not going to be stepped on. But sometimes when you get an attorney, they step on you too. They are in it for doing the least amount of work for the most amount of $$$. And they may convince you it's a good fight with good chances of winning .... even if it isn't. And even if you win down the road, you may have to fight again just to collect. I'd recommend waiting/looking for a class action rather than trying to go it alone. BTW, I'm not an attorney. But I have relatives that are ....
