former GTE employees were hit hard - but then of course we have lots of time and are older so hence why we were chopped........
Verizon bought MCI for the long haul network which is very large plus Verizon Biz is all over the globe ex MCI network and circuits.
Actually MCI is still up and running and making VZ over a million a month! BAM
Same is true for ex-GTE team.
Meh- I know plenty of us still working and under a union contract that says we can't be laid off (pre-2003 hire).
MCI was run into the ground 15 years or so ago. Anyone remember "Uncle Bernie"? Still in jail.
Must be the millenials not the shody accounting that ran them into the ground.
It's no coincidence that MCI hasn't even existed since back when mellenials were just starting middle school.
