The company email on this makes it sound like you will have to perform your ewa assignment if you get riffed and a strike happens before you are off payroll. How do these people sleep at night?

Can you tell me source of ur info about NOT Required to go on strike duty to get severance? I am in this situation and don't want to go on strike duty but want to be assured that my severance won't get affected.
Thanks
actually whether you get paid your unused personal time depends on what state you live in.....that is disclosed in the severance package papers
If you live in California you do not lose Vacation OR personal time.
to Anonymous193760...You WILL NOT be required to go on strike duty to receive your severance.
Vacation is paid out - Personal time is not. Laid off in Jan 2015, and HR offerred to resubmit vacation time as personal so that I didn't lose it.
You do get it, got mine when I left a few months back as part of a small "voluntary separation" I was management
Yea, policy is you get your vacation but not your personal. So all in all... Your serverance...... vacation leftover.... and End of year bonus if you remain employed to the 18th of December. if you leave prior....... i dont know
I was laid off from VZW back in March of this year after 18 years. It really hurt and was a hard pill to swallow. You should get paid for any unused vacation time up to a max of 320 hours i think. I was paid the max because I had so much time banked. Keep your head up. There's opportunity out there for people like us who've worked for a company like VZW.
What if strike or walk out happens will people be required to go to get their severance?
That's the law. You lose until used personal time though
I was also told we will be compensated for unused vacation time.
