I've been through a number of reorgs with Verizon and historically, the severance offers get lower as they progress through levels or stages of rifs. This is not finished, this is only stage one, there will be more to come for "backend" support, call centers and will rate and rank sales staff to weed out the poor performers. I feel for those let go AND for those that remain! Prepare yourself during these times, prove your worth, update your resume and continue to look at what else is available in your area outside of VZ. Don't be blindsided, be prepared! GOD BLESS and good luck to you all!

869, historically, meaning as each phase of rifs progress, there's a Possibility (not probability) that the severance offer becomes less, more than likely within the rate and rank phase. In the past, VZ severance has been as it is now, 2 weeks/year.
@895.....I really know what you mean, being scared for self and family , Financially . I could not sleep and still cant for more than 2-3 hrs daily. (RIF'd June 2015) Please try to think outside VZ ...it's over, move on, find something, anything , you may not get paid as much in this economy and if you are over 50 , it gets worse. Get up at the same time everyday as if you are working and go for a power walk or gym. Keep a schedule to do stuff Good Luck .
I'm so sorry you were RIFD 895. I am so sorry. Any one of us who still has a job may be next. It will be ok.
- Anonymous190895 What business unit and Location? I thought Wireless was done and Wireline was Thursday.
I was just RIF'd. I am scared.
Historically? So that means they used to give more than 2 weeks per year, the current offering? Please explain.
Thank you poster for being positive...
