I keep seeing Decmber pop up but no one providing if that's notification or last date on payroll. I can't seem to understand why it is all such a big secret this time. We all know it is coming and has been for some time. The least they could do is give us a time frame. Before it gets here. lets make this site beneficial not a bitch and moan site. Spill the beans if you have the goods.

They're locking the MPP down for 11/20/15 this year. (Earlier than last year by at least two weeks). I believe another event is happening in late dec too.
I would have to agree Anonymous191602. It will be hush hush. Our entire group was surplussed earlier this year except for the directors. It was a total blind side. Outsourced our work... and yes we trained our replacements before we left.
The jobs aren't going away. They are being outsourced to Indian contracting firms. That is why it is all so hush hush. Cheap labor is the name of the game at AT&T. I guess they think they have political cover due to the merge. I hope it backfires on them big time!
I was surplussed unexpectedly in March after 20 years of service. I learned at that time there are ongoing surplus group leaving the company at different times. They notify affected groups/people 60 days before you go off payroll.
They don't have to tell anyone. The big announcement this summer was unusual. But maybe they'll only do one a year or something?
More than 15 years. Ivebeen very happy for the most part. I must say though I'm not happy how they are handling things this time around.
