VZ C-layer thinks that if they hire from Silicon Valley then they will look like Google or Apple. The problem is not geology of the place. They have the leadership that is fundamentally out of touch with customer, and communications business. If you take this leadership and put them in charge of Apple then Apple will transform into an old NYNEX company with enough red tape that will look like a dinosaur.
