I have also received numberous calls from worried frontline associates. There will be no hiring freezes Q1 for retail stores nor any un-natural store closures, please pass this message along as there have been misinformation given on this forum.

The retail stores maybe going out in the relative near future. I am not so sure VZ wants to be in the expensive brick and mortar retail business. Why do you think store personnel always say to me ' you can also do this on my verizon'. Also, there are number of other retail companies can you buy a phone that will work on the VZ network. When the stores first opened up, 80% of the business was new customers. That number is significantly less now. Most store business is now customer maintenance.
Layoffs in retail stores occur for different reasons than corporate. Store closures cause retail layoffs. If you don't think store closures are in the future...think again.
