Contact EEOC, flood them with valid, cases of age discrimination. Create a nationwide buzz by telling anybody and everybody about the shitstorm coming soon to Verizon, make NOISE! Grab the attention of attorneys by making sure news outlets pick up this story. The story is NOT the layoffs, it is the inevitable CLASS ACTION SUIT, and just like when they did they SAME thing as NYNEX, they will LOSE. For those who say we are wasting time posting here, you are wrong. Complaints were filed YESTERDAY with EEOC, attorneys were contacted, union reps were contacted, but we are also sharing info and support here. People need to know they are not alone in this, they need to know there is strength in numbers. Just KNOWING that others are taking action can motivate those of us to stand up as well, and say "I'm not going down without a fight, lets do this." These companies, they WANT to isolate us, they DO NOT WANT us sharing info, gathering numbers, they want us to just go away quietly. I have no idea what the future holds, but for God's sake, at LEAST don't follow THEIR SCRIPT. Don't make it so easy for them.

After 20+ years I was let go on Thursday. I'm not sad, this company has been oozing corporate greed for years now. After I heard Diego The Shirt talking with hearts in his eyes about the "millennials" and saw the writing on the wall. I was a bit shocked when they "wanted to see me" but honestly....good riddance. It's time for a complete career change (mid life too, but what else can you do).
Don't accuse me of worshipping at the VZ alter either, simply because I am calm about being let go, because I hope every top obscenely rich executive gets canned and loses everything they've gotten off the backs of us non millionaire executives.
I'll laugh and laugh if all those old crusty white douchebags get canned and a "millennial" takes over.

This severance may be the best thing that ever happened to me! 20 years of incompetent managers and directors, lies and bonus driven unethical behavior!
