Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

There are VZ public relations team on this forum trying to justify the failure of VZ leadership team.

I know there are are some folks from verizon PR org trying justify this layoff. No one is questioning the reorganization but the timing AND associated collateral damage AND the huge layoffs in a single quarter AND the leadership failure to not able to do the right things at right time Is unexcusable. The leadership MUST be accountable for allowing reckless hiring until few days ago and all these years. They should have restrained back filling attrition and gracefully handled the slaughtering of the employees, children and the families. Remember, millennials are NOT a overnight phenomenon. The society and generations change gradually over decades. Has this leadership been SLEEPING all these years and not gradually balancing the ecommerce with brick and mortar.

How can people not see what's going on here? The c/levels buy up stock, continue hiring right up to the last minute because they have to keep the charade alive, then they start axing their very best experienced long-time employees to avoid paying retirement packages, replace w kids barely out of college, post jobs like crazy for contractors for 1/2 the pay. Why? Lean books drives up stock price. The c/levels cash out and get out next year before the shell company crashes and the law suits for age discrimination hit. Don't you get it? They are pillaging the company stripping talent and experience to line their pockets then jumping out the fire escape hatch before it goes down in flames. For those not let go yet, play their game. Ride it out and hope for a package, all the while you're job searching knowing the shipwreck is coming... AT&T will probably be snatching up the VZ remnants for pennies on the dollar - wait and see...

Execs do not care about anything except their bonuses and stock, really, so forget all other notions and understand that all what they want to do is to increase their payouts

Verizon layoffs are targeting older workers because of higher salaries, meanwhile targeted campus direct hiring is still taking place. If you are not from India, expect to lose your IT job.

Millennials are a excuse, the problem is still the same old problem the need to drive stock prices up so Executives get their bonus. Until there is a change in the way salaries & bonuses are compiled entire corporations are ripe for the cutting by those in charge who just worry about their pocketbook not the corporations or customers.

Most of you may own VZ stock but how many of you really vote the proxy in your best interest? Really how many of you vote your best interest when voting for leaders of this country or states? How many of you pay attention to what people running for office really say or really stand for?

Leadership will really be scratching when the next generational batch starts spending their inheritance???? , because they don't know how to communicate with live people. Don't know how to say hello or pass the potatoes only know how to send texts & emoogies.

In the near future something will happen (it always does) that cripples wireless networks, be it overloads or weather related & no one will be able to speak what is wrong or where the problem is. In my time the catchy phrase was "let your fingers do the walking" (yellow pages) not it is "let your fingers do the talking"

Remember take the time to always VOTE YOUR BEST INTEREST
