All - we have to remember that God is still in absolute control. This is not to say that bad things won't happen to any or all of us working here at VZ. No employee is perfect...no manager is perfect...no company is perfect. I am thankful for the job I've had as long as I've had it. I am praying that I don't lose my job. I am praying for others. I am praying for the company, and I will continue praying for all of us. I can say this now in this arena, because nobody can turn me into a HR for saying what I'm about to say but this is the truth and I think it's time all of us were reminded of this. The Bible tells us that we will go through horrible times before Christ comes to rapture the Christians out of here. I am a believer and I have tried to conduct myself as a believer while working at this company and in my life... Because my real job is not working for Noble. My real job is to be a Christian and try to spread the gospel of the good news of the salvation that Christ offers. God is the only hope for this economy. God is the only hope for our nation and God is the only hope for the world. Whatever happens to us in this world, if you are a real Christian, you know that you know that you know that God is in control and that nothing that will happen to you is going to devastate you. This layoff is hard. Being out of work is hard -seeing your family suffer because you're out of work is hard and the only way we can get through this is by committing our lives to Christ and letting Him carry us thru the storms. Some of you will figure out who I am. It really doesn't matter right now. What matters is what each one of us does with the rest of her life for the cause of Christ. John 3:16

Thank you for reminding us to place our trust in God. He has our best interest covered. We need to look to God as our source, not VZ. Praying for everyone affected by this situation.
To guy laid off, putting his trust in God. If you believe God is in control, why did it lay you off? I'm an atheist and still have my job. My wife is also well employed and our children are happy.
We have no debt, give to charity, have many friends, lead good lives.
God loves us even if it doesn't seem to love you. Or just maybe God doesn't care about your material needs if it does exist.
Please don't be discouraged by some of the replies. I have been impacted by the layoff, but I am still trusting God :) I agree with your confession of faith and I will try and be a blessing for the remainder of my days at VZ, understanding that alot of people are angry and fearful right now..and if ever there was a time to be an encourager.. It's now !
