Im more fascinated than anything at some of the really insane backstabbing going on right now (ATO). Incessant Lying, playing people against each other, throwing people under buses (well tractor trailers) at the expense of winning (ie, keeping one's job???) at ALL costs. All because some people don't know how to work with and deal with their own fears (or maybe this sort of thing just exposes bad character that was always there). I bought in to 2020. And I can honestly say, im not even sure I want to stay around long enough to see where the dust settles. There are some people who are making it really hard to get ANYTHING done. Even outside of the inevitable 2016 layoffs.

I'm going to pray for this. Google would be highly disruptive...but I'd love to see this once the smoke cleared.

AT&T skill have very good technical staff. The problem is the various layers of useless management who received a promotion either because there was no one available or because they knew someone. Most of the technical managers that I met have no idea what technology is or business or operations or how to lead. Most of them a paper pushers who sit on top of their mountain barking out useless orders coming up with ideas which they stole from someone else. That is the type of management that AT&T, especially ATO org, posses. The best thing that can be done is to get rid majority of VP, AVPs, Directors and Senior Technical Directors (low level management). This will make communication easier and cut a lot of fat and save jobs of really good technical employees which are hard to replace

- Trim the fat. The company is very bloated. Fire the "lifer" low/middle/upper managers who are lousy do-nothing leeches. * Hire real talent, and replace those who do nothing but bring down the company. * Adopt and launch real business strategies instead of a monopolistic approach in the marketplace. * Poor culture starts at the top. Agreed. Take training work on your certs. Im encouraged that alot of people who've left have landed on their feet making more money and are generally happier overall. I work in an area and for a while in a building where at least 4 people got cancer around the same time. Toxic affects your health.
ATO layed off pretty much everyone especially those that have skills. The ITO group is gone and being taken over by TechM. A lot of groups are running on skeleton crews. The rest who are still here with decent skill sets are all looking for work. To boost morale, the leadership is doing rounds to different parts of the country. I do not think it is helping much. No one really believes them anyway. If you are still working at AT&T start looking for work before the Exodus takes place and it will for sure. Do not sit around. Take training if you need to but your primary duty is to yourself and your families.
It is very bad where I work as well in ERP. The morale is terrible. The STD lies, calls his employees his children, takes credit for other people's work, etc. More and more people I meet are looking for work. This place is going down hill fast and the management is clueless to that. Even after eNPS came back negative no one seems to care. Not a good place to be right now anywhere in ATO. ATO is just a wasteland
