How can people not see what's going on here? The c/levels buy up stock, continue hiring right up to the last minute because they have to keep the charade alive, then they start axing their very best experienced long-time employees to avoid paying retirement packages, replace w kids barely out of college, post jobs like crazy for contractors for 1/2 the pay. Why? Lean on the books drives up stock price. The c/levels cash out and get out next year before the shell company crashes and the law suits for age discrimination hit. Don't you get it? They are pillaging the company stripping talent and experience to line their pockets then jumping out the fire escape hatch before it goes down in flames. For those not let go yet, play there game. Ride it out and hope for a package, all the while you're job searching knowing the shipwreck is coming... AT&T will probably be snatching up the VZ remnants for pennies on the dollar - wait and see...

After the holidays, be afraid. Reduction in all stores and to customer facing positions. Verizon's focus is on the millenial. Millenials rather purchase online or phone and Verizon knows it. Shift is already away from stores and toward online sales. Be your own judge. Know the milennial and you know this is true. Its easier, faster, its delivered right to your front door and you don't have to get hassled for up-selling everytime you step foot in a store. Win for Verizon too because online sales reduces costs due to not having to pay for a rep, commission, overtime, all the building costs, taxes and on and on and on.
