Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Is your loyalty being tested?

I have been with Verizon for a very long time. Like most of you, I have appreciated the company and I have worked immensely hard on assuring the success of the business. I "don't" think I will be affected by the layoff but I have many friends and co-workers (within other Org) that will be (expected) affected by the layoff. These people are some of the brightest mind I have worked with and will be okay - they will find a job. However, this experience has given me time to reflect on the give and take and the loyalty. In my opinion loyalty goes beyond dollars and cents. Lowell just announced wireless made money. It may have not been enough for the shareholders and need to cut cost by affecting the livelihood of many dedicated workers. I am truly disturbed and saddened for those that are and will be affected. As one Verizon family (which I don't think we are family anymore) to another, I wish you all luck. Tomorrow starts V-Day. Verizon Massacre Day - Good Luck to you all.
