Sprint is/was a dumpster fire and we were running in the red continually and the most they ever truly laid off at one time was 20k total over a six-month period. Unless you consider VZ chucking landline to the four winds a "layoff"... :) Having worked for this company for 5 years, I've not seen anything near as stupid and insane as Sprint. Ya'll don't know how good you've had it!

How is Frontier to work for?
If you get riffed what makes the difference if you work or worked for VZ, Sprint or AT&T. Saying one is better than the other is pretty irrelevant when you get your walking papers. I think the more appropriate comment is that you are "disposable" at all three and company loyalty is a one way street.
VZ has had 5-10% layoffs every year for 10 years now. Everyone I know in wireline has at least 2 rifs a year in there organization.
ATT will dump all copper next year, this is as bad as it will get
Sprint is the worse. AT&T is bad, but not as bad as Sprint. I worked for both of them so I know. VZ sucks but it's way better than both Sprint and AT&T. I am on the copper side...
