Even if you're not impacted; are you back on this board six months or a year from now? How can employees be productive with this type of stress?

I have been on this website layoff dot com for about three weeks now, I have a feeling I will keep coming here for many more months
You do realize your representatives fight for jobs.
I have been on edge for the past 5 years. Don't get caught in this cycle, it will consume you. If you let any company make you feel like you owe them anything find a better place to work.
Contact your congressman because a publicly traded company is laying people? Why are you owed anything to the company and why should the Government tell a private company what they can or can not do.
You were hired for your services. Those services have been deemed not needed anymore. I'm sure people that made VCRs still want to make them, but business says otherwise.
Vote your shares? Please stop this comment. This is not the 1980s. Boycotts? Are you joking? Your best bet is to contact your representative in Congress and the Senate regardless of party. If they won't listen or help in the near, short or longterm vote them out. A Juggernaut cannot be stopped without public policy.
I agree. People have been taking laps around the anxiety pool for 3-4 weeks... With every week being, "we should know something by this Friday." Well... Tomorrow I guess we will know if we get to keep on swimming or drown.
The just double downed on VZ stock. They pay great dividends and when they drop wireline the stock will go up. Wal Street loves a good layoff and so do I.
I agree with previous post...I removed all my vz shares and put into IRA. Had to keep the emp match but otherwise got it out of vz stock.
Another way to be productive is update resume and job search for a company that doesn't treat employees this way. Live your life on your terms, not theirs.
