Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Word floating around the East Coast wireline offices- the Union is out Nov 1. Is it possible that tomorrow's mgmt call related to strike?

The useless union leadership, put their members in a really bad place, now is all about luck, do you feel lucky today?

The unions do not have to give notice if they wish to strike. This is the difference between working without a contract (now) and working under the old contract (2011).

It is possible that mgmt call is about IOT.

Union is working without a contract so they can strike provided they give advance notice. The strike would be good for Management people who have to do strike duty, they can make big money bucks for holidays before getting RIF'd and the company saves 4th qtr money by not paying Union employees in order to pay all the strike related expenses.
