HA! Sorry, do you comprehend the sheer size of both of these companies? Verizon, for example had $127 billion in 2014 revenue. Assuming a 2x multiplier, that's a ~$250 billion dollar deal, which is a crap ton of debt for any company to contend with that's not Apple or Google or the like.
Not happening, period. They have so much debt it's not even funny.
