During a Wireless employee webcast today, Operations leader John Stratton announced a new organization structure designed to position us closer to our customers. The new structure will improve delivery speed and agility and enable the company to evolve with the changing needs of our customers.

We have created a new market-based structure, eliminating the Area and Regional model and its organization layers and complexity. The new markets are: North East, South East, Great Lakes, North Central, South Central and Pacific.
In addition, we are creating a consolidated Wireless Customer Care Group, joining our call centers with customer service strategy and national service operations. We have also formed the Wireless Business Sales and Operations Group, which brings together our wireless enterprise and large corporate account management teams, together with business customer service and business operations.
Further, we are streamlining our Wireless Sales and Marketing Operations, Wireless Network, Finance, Legal, HR, IT and PR functions into single organizations to reduce redundancy, drive consistency and to improve speed of delivery to the markets.
“Our previous wireless organizational design has served us well since our founding 15 years ago,” Stratton said. “Looking ahead, the next-gen customer’s expectations for everything we do – our products, sales, and service delivery – are very different. We’ll be required to rapidly evolve every aspect of our business. This new structure will speed decision making, and ensure a razor-sharp focus on the changing needs of our current and future customer base.”

I was watching the webcast, John Stratton stated that there will be layoffs. The sound cut out a few times, so I might have missed it, did he give any details?
Any wireless call centers impacted? I know Rancho Cordova's lease is up next year.
Internal webcast at noon today. Consolidation to 6 regions. Definitely not a hoax. Retail stores unaffected.
For those NOT paying attention on the call, he stated on the call that next week the notifications will go out to those affected.
There will be Rifs but no numbers were confirmed.
Believe it. Announced changes confirm the rumors I heard earlier. Too many redundancies with the new structure. However, actually pulling it off successfully is another thing. "Effective tomorrow" doesn't leave much time to gett he logistics worked out.
