Some groups have already had their "all hands" meetings and it's just the typical yearly reduction that occurs Every Single Year.
All the 10K, 20K, etc... is a crock. People posting crap hoping to stir things up, nothing more. I would not be surprised if those posting this garbage work at Pizza Hut, or KFC, looking at their spelling, diction and grammar, nothing leads me to believe otherwise.
This is why it's all a crock, executives don't publicly announce RIF's until most have taken place, excluding those out on VC or medical leave. They call everyone together to let them know it happened, it's over, and everyone can get back to work. I'd surmise a good number of the posters on here are MAYBE in jr high or speak German as their first language. Several VP's have had quarterly town halls where they answered rif related questions and restructuring and seasonal reductions were the only things mentioned. (Perhaps they work for AT&T) ...that would explain a lot.
Why would Stratton announce layoffs in a 1pm call. I would think that worker productively would drop a whole lot if an annoucement was made. Maybe an organizational re-alignment which is code word for RIF?
Straton speaks tomorrow via webcast, at 1. Maybe it's 11, I can't remember. We'll perhaps know something more then. All the rumors and wringing of hands is pointless and generates stress, maybe unnecessarily. It is what it is and we all just have to hope for the best. We've had a great year in this market and a superb Q3. I hope for the best for all me friends and family at work. There is litterally nothing that can be done to change our destiny.
What? typical year, Son I have been working osp for Verizon for 10 yrs this isn't typical we were laidoff when it took 2 men and a boy to complete what they said was a typical day, now there's a service emergency, pull your head out of the Verizon sand loyalty for this company gets you laidoff. Spellings will not tell your knowledge or charactor. Existence of humanity is always threatened by educated crooks. Several of best minds in science and math, are not good at language skills.
