@btuf, Wow, you sure seem to be mad at the wrong party. Why don't you spew your venom at the guy making 18 million a year as he tries to take away pensions and 401k's from the people who keep this company running?

I WAS TOLD A STRIKE IS DEFINITE, UNLESS IT DOES NOT HAPPEN.

I HAVE IT ON GOOD AUTHORITY THAT

IT'S GOING TO BE ON EITHER THE 1ST, OR THE 15TH, OR THE 30TH,

IN EITHER JANUARY, OR MAY, OR JULY,

IN EITHER 2016, OR 2017, MAYBE 2018,

OR,

PERHAPS,

IT MAY NOT HAPPEN AT ALL.

MARK MY WORD!

YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST.

Sincerely,

A. Troll

Over twenty years ago, when I was still a young man, it was explained to me during the orientation for new employees what I should expect in terms of my retirement benefits.

It was one of the most compelling reasons for my I signing on. I left a better paying job for the peace of mind that was offered and promised here.

I have lived up to my end of that long ago bargain. To change things at this point, when it's too late for me to simply change course, start over and recover, and after all these years I've invested in toiling to make this endeavor a success, is it too much to expect my promised payoff in this strange new world?

If that debt is not lived up to, that would be an impossible pill to swallow. My family and I are due this, and are justified in expecting that promise to be kept. I've been working towards it for almost my entire adult life.

I don't mind talented folks coming in and making millions of dollars for making the difficult calls. I do not begrudge them anything in life. I would hope that they would view my contributions similarly, and realize I've earned my pension over thousands upon thousands of difficult days and nights spent keeping our customers in service, happy, and loyal.

Please have a heart. We are human beings too, and our families do not have it easy by any means. Don't destroy us at this late date.

The company is not budging, not one inch, not one penny. The Union cannot, and will not be gutted with the companies ruthless Union destroying proposals. So how can this standoff end? I think it will end in a street fight.

Union missed an opportunity, a December strike would have had the biggest impact. Taking mgmt away from family for the holidays, they would have pressured the Company to settle. Travel is the most expensive in December, hotel rooms in NYC or DC are $500+ if you can get one. Come Jan nobody will care if the union walks or not. Sorry union, your leaders are screwing you. How much of a raise are you getting this year, oh right, zero. Happy New year.

well here we are at the 28th. Looks to me like Santa gave Lowell a nice little compliant union for Xmas? Looking online at the Union associates I work with, busy little bees. Just humming right along doing their job. A job they're glad and grateful to have. So the $64000 question? What happened? Looks like a case of Verba Non Acta. (All talk, no do). We'll take heart, all is not lost. Your bogus threats still managed to f---up plenty of regular vz management people's Xmas/new year holidays. Wishing you the Karma you yourselves make for yourself.

It's Dec 28 and everyone is at work. Everyone knows they are not going to strike, members might find out all the money they have been putting into strike fund is not there.

Sorry to tell everyone this the unions back is against the wall the company has unfortunately left no other option, I was told this will not only be for the employees but also for the company, left to their own cascading poor decisions if we don't do this now there wont be a Verizon to work for. This was told to the Executive Management today in a confidential meeting, please pray for understanding and cooperation.

I hope the Union doesn't come back with a penny of givebacks now, and they shouldn't. The Union was negotiating, the company was not. Lowell, arrogant and miscalculating again. This time I'm for the Union, someone has to stand up to this madness.

From a great source they will be on strike. I have no date, but it is Imminent, could be the 28th, but it's not making it much into the New Year. That is fact as this is written. Lowell, I guess thinks he can go it alone with an army of one week trained ageing cubicle dilberts that will be out in a cold northeast deteriorating copper plant, or working on the Fiber optic plant that changes daily. We'll will see though. This will undoubtedly another Lowell McAdam miscalculation, how many has he had?

If there is a strike, it will happen within the 1st five days of any given month so that union folks have health benefits for the remainder of thst month. Striking at the end of a month makes no sense.

Lowell doesnt have dirt on any union.

The arrogant, entitled, ceo seems to be having a bit of trouble with: SEC,FCC, BPU's, CWA, IBEW, Mayors, VFAs, BoD, CEOs of all the other telcom companys.

To name a few.

How could this be? Lowell single handidly built up the best network in the galaxy.

Why is such a supreme leader failing the largest telcom company in the USA?

There will be no strike. Lowell has dirt on the Unions from the last strike, which is why it ended so abruptly. These contract "negotiations" are just a dog and pony show for the membership.

This is a layoff site. No union bullshit. Manipulating rif'd management in the VZW footprint are spreading nonsense in hopes of receiving an emergency work assignment before they're escorted off property. Should have spent the same time and energy organizing non union associates while they had the chance. See you on the picket line.

Wishful thinking at this time of the year is supposed to be expressed in a letter to me? REMEMBER! You should also have been good. WHICH, does NOT include going on strike. Several years ago, thanks to pressure, from you rent a mob Union people, the elves organized and now, like Bandidos, I'm held to ransom every 3 years in December. Especially galling is the fact I am due in Las Vegas @ Caeser's for the New Years party where Mrs Claus & I are both diamond players. Hahaha. Didn't know about that did you, grubby little union elves? Also a strike will affect a close friend, who is a director @ VZ, wonderful people, both he and his wife are also diamond players (you haven't lived until you have been greeted, at check in, with either Dom Perignon or Kenyan coffee) . In short please don't go on strike until the new year? The wives will be so so pissed. Address non-strike wish lists to: Santa & unionized elves The North Pole, Nunavut X0A 0H0 Canada. Merry Xmas to all non strikers.

Yeah, when Satan gets frostbite and pigs enroll in flight school.

Pickets in front of stores AFTER the Christmas rush?

Workers walking while laden with bloated, post-Christmas credit card balances?

Walking off the job at the slowest, and least impactful, time of year?

Striking while we're working under continued contract benefits?

Yeah, surrrree, we're walking.

False bluster @EZMjsAi. You know nothing.

Lot of hot air being blown. And management has not made any movement which proves these are the usual rumors. How do I know? Management! Striking at the end of the year is unlikely. Never seen the union make such a move nor is there a reason to do so. Now go back to xmas shopping and baking those cookies. Nonsense rumors.

I have to agree. Why would anybody stike if there is no threat to their pay, benefits or work rules? If everything is operating under the old contract, It is not in the union associates interests to walk, no matter how ideal the opportunity.

I heard today the company was pulling out of town management back to home turf today due to possible work stoppage. So there may be some truth to the rumors. I do find the timing to be rather curious as this is normally a very slow time of year. No word on a specific date though.
