NEW Titles and Training?

"We" we're running along with LWD and 2020 Training.

Now many are assigned new titles and must complete 60-80 hours of training by 2017.

Meantime more reductions on the way...and training expense

The "training" AT&T offers is a joke. If you're lucky, you might learn a word or two about high level stuff. Meanwhile, my team are the "admins" for a lot of Linux servers. My team doesn't know the first thing about Linux. I don't see that changing any time soon. AT&T would save so much money having my team write and execute a few bash scripts to automate tasks... Oh well.

2020 "training" what a joke. High level overview fluff for software defined networks and such. Do yourself a favor and use their tuition assistance to get some "real" education. Like Cisco or programming.

Training completion by 2017 is absurd; ATT has no intention of actually training you, its just a carrot in front of you. If they really cared about your training, it would be immediate because of priorities.

60-80 hrs of training over a couple years is hardly an expense, its good propaganda to make you feel good about yourself. Realise that the company wants you to enhance your skills, but it does not mean at ATT. Look at your skills and enhance yourself for opportunities outside of ATT.

For me, outside of ATT is the priority, not inside, as it is obvious to me that ATT has no intention of actually keeping most of us. Look at the bigger picture in this country.
