canceling a lease and closing provides immediate realization of cash also.

some are owned some are leased.

some will be closed.

Stores are leased space. Can't sell that, they'd be paying to break the leases.

Also hearing not converting closed locs to indirects/resellers. selling locs to make some hard cash to have on hand. for what is the cash needed "on hand?"

More jobs will be lost. Nothing positive about that. And I hear closed locations will be CLOSED. Not converted to indirects.

Really though, it could be positive for indirects. I suspect rather than having a location go dark they'd turn it over to an agent. Keep the spot, and you only pay when they produce.

If the store closure rumors are true, fewer DM's, retail support staff and even retail directors will be needed. I also heard district consolodation would happen so each district would have more stores. This move would result in fewer districts as well.

Logic says if they cut 500 stores, they don't need as many DM's and Directors. You may want to get your resume up to date.
