Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

2 Corporate Stores just closed in Central California... Hollister and Sand City soon. They're being converted over to Indirect locations

When you have an over-priced product that nobody really wants .... especially savvy consumers .... why have a store?

Good bye Verizon. Maybe you'll have better luck in 3rd world countries .... rather than try to turn the US into a 3rd world country.

From South Florida. I just switched back to Verizon (from leaving for a Summer Fling w/Sprint) and the store told me they were moving. They didn't move, they closed. AND, another location in the area closed as well. I'm not sure what this all means, to be honest, I hate going to a store. I'd like to know what the actual benefit was to buying from a corporate store? When it always seems that Target, Costco, Best Buy, etc. are always offering deals.

That statement is a 'hoax' and the direct opposite of what the studies indicated. While hen I think it is a mistake to close the stores, when the company is looking under the cushions for extra change, then it tends to cut high cost low margin items.

My store is closing in December. It's in Memphis TN.

There have been at least 4 corporate stores in the Northern Virginia region that have closed. Don't worry, Wireless Zone Authorized retailers provide a great experience with great staff and caring owners. We are here to serve and we appreciate our community and love to be your locally owned small business Verizon Wireless Store.

It's already happened. A handful of locations in the South East Market are scheduled to close by 9/30/16. Severance was offered. It's only the beginning folks. Also, they weren't necessarily low performing stores. More factors are at play.
