An analogy for AOL people to reflect on. The male black widow spider puts its life on the line when courting the much larger, highly aggressive toxic female.
By all means hope for the best, but I'd recommend you expect the worst, and polish daily that resume..

Verizon will keep the technology but kick the people out the door in a year. Seen it happen many times and not only with Verizon.

If you look back through every company/product that Shammo has touched has died within 36 months. AOL, you might be ahead of the curve because you are going to take a bunch of the heat for the GO90 failure.
AOL will become an insignificant entity in two years and the world will come to terms with the fact that a super massive black-hole has consumed it. You all will be part of the burp that comes out of that gulp.
