Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I'm glad I goofed off on every business trip I took, and I traveled a lot for wireless. Extra days, extra meals, I took advantage of every thing

I could. And I'm glad I did. No regrets, and it'd do it again in a heart beat.

Good for you!! We're all just a number here. VZ is all about the numbers, everyone needs to make it all about them numbers for themselves as well.

The only reason I work 70 hours a week is for the money!!! 41-49 is 1.5 times pay, 49+ is double time baby! Nothing like surfing the net milking VZ for close to $80/hour.

You can be held legally responsible for this kind of behaviour

I did actual work about 1 hour a month. For 16 years. Others that got let go with me put in 60-70 hours a week. What did that get them? :-)

An honest weeks pay for an honest day's work. Fell about laughing. 16pq! Too, too funny and so apt for ALL the upper management and for me. Lazy piece of dog doo doo that I am. 😂

An honest week's pay for an honest days work. The New Management Credo?

I hated traveling, no perk in the world can replace my own bed. I can tell you so many horror stories from my travels. So many missed birthdays, kids games, recitals, unhealthy food, noisy hotels, cancelled flights. No perk can replace what I lost. And after all that, I was let go, should have taken a different path. Oh, well.

I'm the OP on this one, and I know guys that came in early, worked late, and gave selflessly to the company. Guess what, they got laid off just like me.

I Fedex overnight a cinder block or two per week on the company dime when ever I feel glum. Gives me a nice chuckle.

Hallelujah!!!! Finally someone who isn't on a pity party bemoaning the fact they served vz so "loyally." Don't feel you are alone. I made the same For years. Staying late, laying awake at night so so many times trying to resolve issues in my head, even going in to the office at weekends to help resolve one thing or another. Then I got warned that "my numbers" were crap resulting in a 0.9% pay raise. BOOM! Done. My numbers are now are so bright I gotta wear shades. I DO NOTHING. Well, not exactly nothing. It's still work to keep sucking on the VZ teat, but I'm a sucking up the milk and honey.Trips here, there and everywhere. Indianapolis last trip, (vz sponsoring the racetrack) met Juan Pablo Montoya, the race driver. I'm just one of little people, but I'm not a fool, however there are many at vz who have a misplaced sense of loyalty. Some of us have woken up, some will, most will sleep on until one day, they and their "loyal" service will need to be terminated in order to help prop up the stock price. Take one last drink from the bottle of company koolade as they escort you and your loyalty to the door?
