I have Google Fi. Here's why it's not taken over the world: The speeds in other countries is not great. The switchover from networks to wi-fi still needs work. YES, I believe that this is a model for the future for anyone who travels internationally. Here's the thing, though - most Americans are xenophobic folks who have never left the country.

I looked at project pi when I got the invite. It is not cheaper than the employee discount. There are several such plans like ting. You cannot use your device. You have no choice of devices. And family plans are not possible.
I've had Project Fi for a month now and absolutely love it. Republic Wireless is another carrier that offers a very similar service.
Have to laugh. I googled Project FI and my jaw dropped.This Corporal of Industry, mortgaged Verizon to death, and is now cannibalizing what's left. It will be very interesting to see what he pays himself for his gross Negligence in 2015. I guess the only person he feels obligated to satisfy is Warren Buffett. (because of the dividend at all costs mentality) Take a 139 year old Corporation and rip the A** out of it in under 3 years. Google and the price wars of the Wireless Carriers is going to wipe out Verizon as a Company.

Google said its new service, called Project Fi, will cost $20 a month for talk and texts, including Wi-Fi hookups and international coverage in more than 120 countries, and another $10 per gigabyte of data used each month. That makes the plan between $15 and $20 a month cheaper than many competing offers from the major carriers.
In a departure from typical industry practice, Google said it would credit the accounts of customers who don’t use all their data in a given month, and the service will default to free Wi-Fi airwaves when available.
