I saw on the at&t web page many over seas jobs, some for new teams they are starting training in January 2016. . All kinds of positions, this does have me worried. I have been with at&t since Ma Bell but today I will be updating my resume'. I am preparing for the worst. I believe that many more will be laid off by the end of the year and by early spring we may all be gone.

I hear a lot of complaining, but sounds like the people in India are the ones that need the union. I missed the part where AT&T guaranteed a high paying job for life.
My VP held a call and told us we were overworked. He said he was going to get us some help but training would be required. The people would work with someone in the group and bring them up to speed, All seemed nice. Everyone added was from India and none seemed to understand the work but because the work could all be done remote it seemed if they were stuck we could help. ( dumb and stupid thinking) after a month we received a mandatory attendance to a conference call. The VP recorded a short message that was played by someone who would not identify themselves. The message was simple and short. " All recipients of the mandatory VM would be given two weeks to find another job or be allowed to retire if eligible. IF not we would be off the books by December 15 2015. 67 people in the US and all will be gone.
Wondering if your safe. keep wondering but don't be foolish.
Salaried employees need unions. Even thought AT&T calls everyone a manager, almost none of us are in management. They just call us managers so they don't have to pay overtime and can do whatever they want. If you don't like it, leave. There are plenty of jobs out there who play fair with their employees.
Well rather than some of us being ready for what is to come. Are ALL of us ready to fight... Fight for our rights.... that is the answer. I don't see that... Is it the lack of fighting spirit, lack of information, lack of unions or plain fear that is stopping employees from protesting....?
