Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Just the facts, as Joe Friday would say.

The top five executives drew 44 million dollars in compensation last year. Check the link,

Verizon has been making one billion in profit per month for the last 18 months.

Verizon is employing more and more H1B workers.

Verizon is laying off non union workers and asking for major concessions from union workers.

In my opinion, to say that Verizon is a bad corporate citizen is being too kind -- SOULLESS would seem to be a better word.

P.S. Let's give the rich and corporations more tax breaks and less regulations and wait for some more trickle down!

Stop it with the $18 billion complaint. Do you think that there is a pile of $18 billion dollars doing nothing? Ever hear of reinvestment? Technology upgrades? Dividends? Acquisitions? Come up with a better argument.

Lowell's favorite Holiday tune:

We RIF you a crappy Xmas, we RIF you a crappy Xmas, we RIF you a crappy Xmas and a crappy New Year.

Thanks for all your sacrifices. I'll be golfing later and eating a nice steak before I get on my private jet. Why the complaints? I'm doing great!

I saw that. How disgusting it that ? They make billions and technicians need to lose the pension or 401k that they were promised. It is ok to layoff Management that actually work for a living while the cronies look good in the suits that they where. What a disgrace. I have worked there for over 30 years and now they want to reduce my pension. Should be illegal. !!
