Your manager would have known at least a month ago if he / she had to RIF anybody. RIFs don't happen overnight. There is an HR and legal review that usually takes three weeks to complete.
I hear you guys - the same issues here, I have the same fears. My manager thinks we are safe, but what does she know, she'll get canned first anyway

I am in supply chain, heard that we should be OK, but I am really doubtful, I guess we'll learn in a week or two, everything is pointing that the cuts will take place in early November. Good luck.
