Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

No Layoffs at Verizon Enterprise Solutions Yet

Just a quick note that we haven't had any cuts at VES for a while. I know that some folks are speculating about Executive retirement plants, but I can tell you that it's business as usual for us grunts and that we are somehow managing to keep things afloat. No drama, a lot of work and hopeful no layoffs in 2016 and beyond.

No speculation. Some execs of VZB actually announced retirement.

Hey #981 - I am in Wireless Retail, so I am clueless, please bear with me. Have a Q. When you say "Managers" what do you refer to? Are these Managers on Consulting projects in Enterprise Solutions? Or somekind of managers in other groups? Everyone keeps talking about big layoffs of "Managers" and I am not sure what those folks are responsible for. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure the execs know what to expect from the unions yet. It almost seems like the unions will roll over and pee on themselves like a little puppy dog. But if they don't, the exec want to retain enough scabs (aka managers, aka Americans, aka @ss kissers) to pretend they can live up to customer expectations.

My guess is the big RIF won't come until after the union settles.
