Yes you can tell when your closing by a stricter (if possible) attendance policy and unreachable stats expectation. They will try to fire the most senior first. The calls will go from mandatory overtime to 3-5 min in between calls. They are testing your call load elsewhere. You will have strange upgrades to your center. New paint or furniture or carpet. They have to replace it anyway but they will say it's to show longevity. Reality it's to try to maintain order and prevent thievery.

Managers won't know neither will your shop Stewart's until the day before. When you will know when most senior officers want to come reward your recent achievements. That is the day I had my senior officer tell over 400 employees she had the unfortunate pleasure of telling us our center will close in 90 days.

I suggest you get all medical procedures completed and start reducing that phone plan. 30 days after you have worked your last day both will be gone!

What constitutes surpluses ?? Who decides that? And can it be said to be a surplus but in fact is just a way of downsizing?

5 managers, 4 of which choose to go to another part of the the country. The ones laid off were not union. However, a few union were fired. And we were told that our jobs may be up by the end of the year. We were told we would be offered a chance to transfer. I believe this because our calls are now 3-5 minutes apart and the last time they offered OT it was for only 2 hours a day, now nothing is being offered. The center is large, but half filled now, it is quiet and we are all WORRIED.

Nope. Not true at all. No Union surplus in the southeast for 4th quarter.
