Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

1. Wireless does not pay for the backbone.

2. Wireline if profitable, (about 1/3 of VZ profit).

3. Wireline revenue is dropping.

Bottom line, we are one Verizon.

And without wireline, there would not no wireless.

It's generally wiser not to even acknowledge people like this original poster, because then they can't get off on the replies of anger they successfully created.

99% of the time wireless traffic is on wired network. Wireless is only the last mile.

Here's why your a d_ouchbag. When Verizon sells all it's landline business like you suggest it will then have to pay that company for the traffic that will go over the network that it no longer owns.

Is this Lowell posting incognito? I have pets that are smarter than you, pal. Where does your precious wireless traffic go without the wireline backbone that carries it? NOWHERE! This separation of wireline and wireless profit is an accounting gimmick Verizon spouts at Wall St's request, and then the sheep who don't have the slightest idea how a cell phone call works ( people like you, for example) just repeat it.

Ok, I'll tell Lowell to flip the switch and turn off all of the VZ Enterprise services tomorrow. Have your money in a bank/credit union? Good luck getting it out with that switch in he OFF position. Oh yah, the stock you have in your 401k? It's becomes almost instantaneously worthless as the system of trading it no longer works. You apparently have NO IDEA how your life is affected daily by wired communications. SOMEBODY has to provide that service for this country to simply operate daily. Why can't that be Verizon? If not Verizon, WHO then? VZ Enterprise had a boom just like Wireless, but margin pressure caught up. Same thing will happen/is happening in Wireless, only it has happened much more quickly. Wireless is a one-trick pony...gouge, until the individual consumer wises up...then where is there to go?
