These three kids are sitting around talking, and the first little kid says, "My dad is so fast, he can shoot an arrow down range and run down there to see where it lands".
The second little kid says, "That's nothing, my dad is so fast that when he goes to sleep at night and turns off the lights, he can be in bed before the room gets dark".
The third little kid says, "I got all you guys beat. My dad works for VZ landline. He's so fast that when he gets off of work at 4:30, he's home by 2:15".
For example, in another state who does the same job as we do but isn't Union makes significantly less than we do. Maybe that's all they're worth?

It's because of the Union that we in wireline make a living wage and have solid health benefits and 401K. I can't speak to wireless, but I am pleased on my side. For example, in another state who does the same job as we do but isn't Union makes significantly less than we do.
Do I think there are problems? Of course. Nothing is perfect. But without the Union, we'd be eating ramen soup on a daily.
Unions are all about politics and money and self-preservation-- of the union, not of the folks who are members of the union. I was so disillusioned when I discovered this for myself about ten years after I had enthusiastically picketed to support unions. What we got was not what we thought we were getting.

Unions are like the insurance you will never use, but when you really need them, it is already expired, at least in this modern time and place
I joined two years ago, I am non-union on the wireless side though. I am not a manager. I am yet to hear a single good thing about Unions. I am neutral, but just saying that everyone is bashing them.
