The management paradox at AT&T is that many managers hate their jobs, but they are considerably more miserable doing nothing, yet that exactly what they do,... nothing. Your arguments is compelling, congratulations!!, Success always follow your path. Success always follow your path. Success always follow your path.

I think a good manager would hate their job because there's so little they can do in regards to employee development. They're kinda stuck keeping their employees hands tied and giving them bs ratings. I used to work for an excellent manager who really put the effort in with developing employees and matching up projects with employees who had the right skills for them. He was demoted. My manager before being surplussed loved her job. She was also the most insane micro manager I ever worked for. She killed all the projects she didn't understand leaving us with only mindless data entry. She had a team Q window everyone had to be in and would dictate exactly how each person had to do their data entry. If you were even one word off from what she wanted on an e-mail or whatever, she would scream and yell at you in team meetings. It was insanity. I think AT&T is a breeding ground for really bad managers.
