Trump and Carson are the only two I've heard discuss closing the H1B loopholes. There are 2,000,000 American IT workers in the US, you'd think they and theirs would be all over this.
500,000 non US workers currently working in IT, or 25%, IT salaries are exactly where they were 13 years ago.
If you want ANY chance at getting this fixed, the choice it obvious.
I found these stats on Bernie Sander's record issue related to foreign workers:
Voted NO on more immigrant visas for skilled workers. (Sep 1998)
Voted YES on eliminating the "Y" nonimmigrant guestworker program. (May 2007)
Voted NO on comprehensive immigration reform. (Jun 2007) (because of amendment to increase the number of H1B visas)
The H1B program is nothing more than a slave labor force used to supplant IT white collar workers, much the same way the illegal immigrant work force is used as slave labor for the hourly wage workers.
You want this fixed, start posting the facts on candidate's social media sites, stop whining and do something about it.
Just what this country needs, more people sending American dollars overseas.
Have you're kids posting to their sites, it's their livelihoods at stake too.
Anonymous179585: That's the real kicker, the entire justification for increasing H1B's is to get HIGHLY skilled people into the country, yet, they KICK the PhD's out of the country after they've received their IVY League degrees, often via scholarships.
I've not heard Sanders' stance on the subject, but the fact that his entire life has been spent in politics, makes me question his ability to get anything done when CEO's have any input on the subject.
I have very little doubt, after watching how Trump has been able to manipulate CNBC's debate rules, Fox News, other candidate's positions, that he'd have little to no problems getting this issue resolved. (It will probably be a Trump / Carson ticket)
Whether you vote for him or not, voicing your concerns on his / their sites will get it pushed into the public discussion. It takes very little effort to make a post or two a day on their social sites.
They grant 100k h1b visas a year, now they approve spouses for work, the numbers will double. In 7 years you will have more indians working in US IT than americans, what a shame. Ask Hilary about it, she helped engineer it. They stopped wage growth completely. Why do not they do the same thing with doctors, that would surely kill any price inflation on the medical cost side
Yep I agree. My vote will be either for Trump or Sanders (depending on the primaries). I think we need to close the H1B visa loopholes AND tax the crap out of all corps that ships jobs overseas. We can only hope that all the greedy execs fall to the same fate as that scumbag Steve Jobs .... the sooner the better. His greed didn't save him. All these execs say they need to offshore to stay competitive. But they don't explain how an 7-9 digit executive compensation package makes companies more competitive. They offshore and hire H1B visas just to line their own greedy pockets.
