Anyone know if they're going to announce today? I know something is happening and everyone is talking about it and speculating but seems like it would be a better use of time and productivity to get it out there sooner rather than later so people can get back to work or preparing for departure.

They will do it quietly, won't be in the news for sure
If the welfare of the workforce were a consideration, then this wouldn't be happening. It will come after Q3 announcements. "Do you want the good news or the bad news?" They need the sequence to be bad news then "good" news so Wall Street can bump share price back up after it takes a hit from the results announcements. It's not about productivity, it's all about perception. Any actual layoffs will happen on the Thursday of a paydate to give those affected a 3-day weekend for the shock to set in/wear off.
We need to get on with our lives. I hate it when Verizon does stuff like this.
In the end most of us will probably still be employed, yet we lost so much productivity in the process.
I agree completely. Everyone knows something is coming, and not announcing it is a major problem. They really need to make an announcement today.
