Who made the announcement? I don't see that and hadn't heard this. So this is pretty interesting.
Is this why they are listening to all calls for a couple of days. Telling all call reps that they are rolling out another department so they said to ignore the whispers at the beginning of the call, it is for testing the calls for the new department. Will ALL employees be notified by email on July 31 if they are on the list of layoffs? By that I mean, Call center employees as well?

Any idea what the criteria will be in selection process of who stays and who will be released? Will it be handled by direct manager or will process of elimination be handled by HR?

It affects ATO. Wireline will have a 10% haircut. Many folks have already been notified. ATT will tell each BU a different story to keep us all compartmentalised about what is really going on.
