If they strike they will just quicken their demise. The contracts probably already exceed market value. Yes, you're not going to get everything you want, but in this economy you should just take what you can get. I'm not sure what benefits they would be striking for because no one else is getting those benefits either.
Do something about crazy daily performance reviewing? What like strike? There is a no strike Claus. It's time for people who don't like working for this company to leave. Am I among those ranks? Let's just say I believe I'm best somewhere where I'm appreciated.
There hasn't been a strike for years. Unions have lost their power, especially in "right to work" states like Florida. How can a union negotiate better job security when the company is hiring more and more contractors that they can terminate at any time and they don't have to pay them any benefits or severance pay? The company must stay competitive in order to exist, so what is the point of the unions anyway? There's simply no job security with any company today, with or without unions, for management or non-management employees. We're all there until the bean counters can find a way to replace us with cheaper labor by outsourcing or eliminating our jobs. The world has changed, and not just AT&T. It's sad to watch. I've lost so many close friends and my AT&T family to layoffs this year, and they're not done yet... We all know that we can be in the next wave of layoffs because they will never end.

Wake up and look around. /how many will cross the line. CWA only cares about dues. Read the CWA web site and all they say is how great they are doing and how they are making a big stride in keeping up the demand for more. Hello !!!!! how many got the hit and where is the CWA on this info. in the old days union people just moved to a different job. Now ATT offers a job in another state knowing full well very few if any will move so they take a layoff and the Union just keeps saying how great they are.
If there is a strike, will that include all of at&t even the call center customer reps?
Let me give to you what happen in Orlando, 3 years ago, the union president was fired for doubled dipping , he did it for a while, and help pass such terrible contract in 2012, for this own benefit, this i just one example how the union works for their members, I say they will not strike, 100% sure,, game over
I don't think they will, but even if they do I think the CWA will learn real quick that despite that 96% yes vote for a strike, many of their members are not interested in trying to live on their strike pay for very long, if at all. I believe most would cross the picket lines pretty quickly. I had a CP assignment not too long ago and my contingency supervisor called me the day before contract expiration and told me not to worry about traveling out there. They guy I was to replace had already said he wasn't participating in any strike. He couldn't do without his paycheck even for one day.
