I am receiving a monthly severance pay package over 48 months. If I die within that 48 months, does the remainder get paid to my estate or spouse?

RSC's are bargained union employees. The severance is contractual and based on years of service. It's in your contract.

Last post: I should have said sales-based management employees. Union guys might have a different equation.

When I got my letter (Jan 2017) I learned that for sales based employees the severance package is 4% per year of 80% of your total salary (base salary +100% comp). Basically the formula is comp+base x 80% x 4%/ year.

There is no updated documentation because it hasn't changed. It is still 4% per year with a max of 50% for managers.

I looked up severance and surplus and all the documents are old, there is no content for the 2016 layoff. Therefore do not rely on those documents. Adding, both my supervisor and director are clueless and there is zero documentation for them.

Multiply your yearly salary by 0.04

The multiple that by the number of years you've worked at the company.

Save this number to compare it to the following:

Now multiply your yearly salary by 0.5

Pick the smallest number - that's your severance pay out.

These caps have been in place since 2011, so not much news here.

Good luck with receiving severance , hope it's paid. Knowing how att operates, there is no guarantee it will be paid. Over the years we have seen reps let go and they never received earned vacation pay. Att is such an unfair company to deal with.

Your severance pay is paid out 45 days after your last day of work which if it's September 29 your severance pay comes November 13 or 14.
