127867 here. Option 1 is to remain on pay-roll for 60 days while applying for new jobs in the company. Allegedly, you'd be given priority over any other candidate. If you turn down any interviews that don't require relocation or are at a higher level than the job you have, you forfeit your severance.

Option 2 is to leave in 21 days with your full severance, unless you want to negotiate an earlier exit with your supervisor.

If someone wouldn't mind, could you please share what the two options were? Obviously no self identifying information just something general, like option 1 had X but Option 2 had Y.

@127867 - I asked the same question about the 5-day window but didn't hear back before COB. I took option 2 anyway though..I'm ready to move on to a company less turbulent. Nothing against AT&T, but in my 13+ years of service I never felt safe or secure in my job.

I also asked about the MTP reduction of 50% regarding my severance. The verbiage on the NSG site reads that it's only applicable to those within 12-months of retirement so not sure why it's on mine...I'm only 44.

Thanks for the well wishes from everyone in this thread. Keep the faith!

Anonymous128037, I am so sorry. I'm 127867 and I was the one who was notified this morning at 9:30 AM Eastern. It sounds like they at least informed you with a little more class than they informed me. I got a very awkward call from my director about 30 minutes after I got the e-mail where he just quickly read through a script and hung-up.

I don't know if you've accessed the NSG website yet. I'm trying to figure out if the 5 days to make our decision between Option 1 and Option 2 includes the weekend or not.

I was surplused this morning. I'm in C&E southeast region. It wasn't done by mass email but via conference call with an HR specialist and my management team. The HR email came about 10-minutes after the conference call was over. Prayers for everyone else in the same boat.

My director just sent out a mass email stating that the process of notifying folks has been completed. I verified that I was safe by talking to my manager. I'm happy that I can go on vacation next week in peace. I'm in TP&E which is a pretty big organization so I don't know if the entire org has been notified. Based on replies in this thread it seems that notifications of separation were sent out pretty early today. Good luck to all.

Anonymous127867 checking back in.

I'm HQ. My e-mail notification was sent about 9:30 AM. It isn't a surprise to me. I already have several other opportunities lined up. I'm very certain most of my team will be laid off in the next round.

I did. I got my notification today. I also got a very awkward call from my director (first time he's ever spoken to someone on our team directly) and a very uncomfortable call with my supervisor.

No. but I heard through the grapevine that somebody in Indiana had been notified. Rumor is that the @nd level managers were notified Tuesday of who they would have to tell today. Check your email and wait for an appointment with your boss. I am waiting too!

Good luck all!
