Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

I have heard that by 2020 they either only want 60% or 40% of the managers here by that time.

We heard in a group meeting once that the 3rd level said it was more like 40% should still be here in management. But who knows what big corporations are thinking but I am planning on being gone by 2020. I do feel they want to make most of us contractors to get rid of benefits. I'm lucky that being in Silicon Valley there is so much demand and money in data circuits, and that I really only work with the big dot com's. Best of luck to all of you out there.

I'm fortunate in that I live in NYC and I'm a programmer. There are a million opportunities out here. It kinda amazes me AT&T didn't want me to program. I spoke to several directors and VPs in my organization and they all told me there is absolutely no programming in Operations. So, for me, this was what I needed to get out.
