Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Any rumors about reorg?

I’m at my wits’ end. My team has been in chaos since the layoffs. We have a skeleton crew, miss a couple of critical jobs, and have been working a triple workload. No way we can continue being productive and efficient. We will just one day completely collapse. Why has it been so difficult for mgmt to adjust after layoffs? They are incompetent, don’t really care, or both?

From someone who spent over a decade at Nike, I would recommend always keeping your eyes out for and exploring great opportunities externally. At the end of the day, the company will not be loyal to you, so why be loyal to them? Figure out what’s most important to you and those around you, and pursue it! There is life beyond the berm.

“Just do it!”

Of course there’s gonna be another reorg and more layoffs. The last one was purely financially driven and had no strategy attached to it. Our VP told us this straight up. Basically shooting from the hip. Now it’s time to really aim aka REORG, and make the necessary changes to accommodate the new playbook with EH as CEO. The last reorg was under JD and we all know how Nike leaders like to change and repackage things.

Re org definitely coming. My area is still a mess and hopefully EH clears house and things make sense again.

Both. Don't let the churn get to you.
You show up do the thing and get a paycheck that's all. Org productivity and efficiency is not your problem it is management's.
