Hoka owning the casuals market which is 99% of the population while Nike still trying to squeeze out another marathon shoe with some magical performance gain year over year.
Don’t forget how hot Under Armor was and what happened. It’s a marathon not a sprint.
Dead culture -> soulless product
When the employees don't even believe in the brand or wear the product, because it is ugly or not comfortable and too expensive (even at the 50% discount) you're bound to lose to competitors that care about their employees and their customers. Gone are the days of 90% saturation of Nike around Beaverton
